Eiki Helgason is Icelandic snowboarder and a member of Horsefeathers global snowboarding team. He was born in Akurey in the north of Iceland from where comes all his family. Eiki discovered snowboarding as a little boy and it completely changed his life. How? This is what his brand new video project Ísland Born is all about.
Ísland Born is a mockumentary, which means it is just a bit serious, but a lot funny documentary about the place Eiki comes from and how does it feel like to be a pro snowboarder from Iceland. The video ends with Eiki´s latest full part composed of the best shots from the last season.
Iceland had a great influence on Eiki´s style. He grew up at the farm where he spent all days snowboarding in its surroundings and constantly thinking about whatever place he could ride. He started to look at the world differently and it became a one big snow park for him. Because, as Eiki says, Iceland has few pretty good ski resorts, it is missing though good parks. That is the reason why he grew up riding mostly street rails because that´s what he had. This is how Eiki became one of the most versatile riders, who are present on the snowboarding scene at the moment.
This Fall is really busy for Eiki. Besides the Ísland Born project he also launches his firstHorsefeathers signature line. Together we designed Eiki´s range to stand up to the toughest abuse and most brutal conditions, while remaining versatile and functional. Whether you are filming at a street spot, riding a dome, or cruising a resort, Eiki’s range has got your back for comfort, warmth and style.
